The Annual Daniel Paul Purcell, MD, Memorial Golf Classic began in 1980 and has been played every year since, at the Manchester Country Club. This long-standing and much-anticipated golf tournament attracts local business leaders and community representatives. It is an event filled with camaraderie and a course layout that aims to please. A most enjoyable event steeped in the tradition of Manchester Memorial Hospital's late fundraiser, Daniel Paul Purcell, MD.

This annual event is held in honor of the late Dr. Purcell, who started the tournament in 1980 as a way to raise money for the hospital, while enjoying a day of golf with his friends.
