February 5, 2010 Breakfast Meeting

Michael Veillette, ECHN VP of Finance; Stan Kontogiannis, ECHN Corporate & Foundation Relations Officer; Congressman Joe Courtney; Carolyn McKenna, ECHN General Counsel; Jeffrey Heidtman, Chairman of the ECHN Board of Trustees.
Congressman Joe Courtney spoke to about 100 community business leaders on February 5, 2010 at Manchester Memorial Hospital on the topic of healthcare reform. The information he shared and his knowledge of the subject created a well-received speech and open forum at the conclusion. The presentation had been preceded by a welcome from the General Counsel of ECHN, Carolyn McKenna, the introduction of BACH members by Advisory Committee member Michael Lynch, and the speaker introduction by Eric Person of the Home Builders Association of Hartford County. Following the presentation, Rep. Courtney joined BACH members and their guests for breakfast and networking. Many complimentary comments were received from the attendees on the content of the presentation, as well as the Congressman's ability to articulate a very complicated and controversial topic.
September 22, 2009 Breakfast Meeting
 |
On September 22, 2009, a BACH Breakfast Meeting was held featuring Mike Hudson, president of Aetna's Northeast Region, as keynote speaker. His presentation, which focused on the issue of healthcare reform from the insurance perspective, was well-received. There was a valuable time of Q & A at the conclusion of the presentation. Charlie Coven, VP CIO of ECHN, followed the keynote with an explanation of the Health Information Exchange at ECHN. During the business portion of the meeting, the BACH recruitment plaque was introduced by Stan Kontogiannis, Corporate Foundation Relations Officer for ECHN, which will display the company's name and representative who recruits the most new BACH members in each quarter. The 50+ businessmen and women who attended the meeting gave positive feedback on the value of the presentations and networking.
